On Oct. 8, YG Entertainment first unveiled the revised version of ŌĆ£Lovesick GirlsŌĆØ MV on NAVER TV and later applied to YouTube. Soon after the ŌĆ£Lovesick GirlsŌĆØ MV was released on Oct. 2, a controversy over the sexy nurse outfit was sparked. About halfway into the video, Jennie appears in sexy nurse outfits: a short skirt, nurse cap, colorful nails, and high heels. The Korean Health and Medical WorkersŌĆÖ Union criticized YG for ŌĆ£following the typical sexual code under the excuse of ŌĆścostumes.‘ŌĆØ In response, YG Entertainment decided to delete all scenes showing the nurse outfit in BLACKPINKŌĆÖs ŌĆ£Lovesick GirlsŌĆØ music video. They officially apologized, saying, ŌĆ£We will take this opportunity to deeply reflect on the heavy responsibilities laid out before us. We would like to express our deepest apologies to the nurses who felt discomfort from this issue.ŌĆØ In the revised version, the nurseŌĆÖs outfit completely disappeared. Instead, Jennie only appears as a patient who undergoes a variety of emotional changes. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is on a roll with their latest smash. BLACKPINKŌĆÖs THE ALBUM topped iTunes album charts in 57 countries shortly after its release on Oct. 2, and sold about 590,000 copies at once as soon as the physical album was released on Oct. 6.
